SHIP-ASSIST, COASTAL & OCEAN TOWING TUGS
Shipco has a range of standard ship-assist, coastal and ocean towing tugs, developed by Shipco's subsidiary, Shipco Marine and General Design Ltd. These designs incorporate features resulting from hands-on experience, combined with selection of up to date machinery packages and operating systems.

Standard vessels have the most economic build cost.

LANDING BARGES & VEHICULAR FERRIES
Various types of cargo/vehicular/passenger ferries service New Zealand's offshore islands and large, meandering harbours. Shipco has designed and built numerous vessels of different types for these remote services where reliability and rugged, strong construction is of the utmost importance.

Shipco has designed and built barges for local and offshore clients ranging from 12 metres to 93 metres in length.

These barges have been built for a diverse range of uses, including 55-metre hydraulic bottom-dump barges for the dredging industry, crane barges and barges for the nickel-ore mining industry and barges for bulk and heavy lift cargos.

Special attention is paid to deck strength and ease of handling and towing.

WINCHES & DECK MACHINERY
The management's 80 years of industry experience and a comprehensive in-house design team combine to supply rugged, reliable, easy-to-use equipment designed to withstand arduous duties.

Access for routine equipment maintenance and day-to-day operation is well thought out and appropriate paint systems are applied progressively throughout the production process, ensuring good corrosion protection.

CONSTRUCTION
Shipco designs and build to the requirements of all major classification societies. Building and construction standards are in accordance with the Shipbuilding and Repair Quality Standard set out by the International Association of Classification Societies. (IACS)

Steel plate and sections are blasted and primed prior to fabrication. Computer aided plate cutting ensures a high degree of accuracy and hull fairness.

MACHINERY INSTALLATIONS & OUTFITTING

The ship's outfitting is a complex task of installing and fitting all the required systems and machinery items into restricted spaces, in such a way that the whole installation is neat and tidy, yet easily accessible for maintenance.

Ergonomics and client requirements are taken into account in the design and installation process. Rules and regulations pertaining to the installations and systems are also met.
