Naiad is a highly creative boat design company with boatbuilders in New Zealand, Australia and USA. Naiad specialize in Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) for a variety of applications. With a wide range of standard designs, what really makes Naiad unique is its ability to design and build to a customer's exact specifications - whether it be modifying an existing design or creating something new.
More then twenty years experience of building RHIBs pays off with boats that ride superbly, take the knocks in their stride, and provide many years of reliable service. Innovations include our multi-stepped hulls for outboard propulsion, choice of air tubes or foam fenders, round or D-section tubes, and patented air tube attachment system which allows for fast, easy maintenance of the tubes without specialist equipment or personnel.
Rescue
The New Zealand Coastguard have provided tremendous feedback over the years into what makes a successful yet cost-efficient rescue boat. Some 42 Naiads are in Coastguard service around New Zealand. The Australian rescue services are now appreciating the benefits of these boats with 12 boats launched in the last 2 years. Sizes range from 5m up to 15m with a variety of propulsion systems - outboard, jet or shaft drive.
Tourism
Today's tourist operators are looking for eye-catching, reliable and efficient platforms for sightseeing, water taxi, and high-speed thrill rides. Naiad have delivered many exciting boats into this market, ranging from 8m to 15m, giving operators a strong competitive edge.
Pilot Boats
The ability of a Naiad to take the rough stuff is exemplified by the number of Naiads in use by pilot organisations around the world. One pilot boat company has a fleet of five Naiads! Designs range from 9m twin outboard to 15m twin diesel shaft drive.
Work Boats
Over many years Naiad have designed and built many police, fisheries patrol and general commercial workboats. Their comfortable ride and good ergonomics minimise operator fatigue, even over long periods and in harsh conditions.
Superyacht Tenders
The fleet of Naiad superyacht tenders around the world is growing fast! They are particularly favoured by owners and captains of expedition style boats - where a tender must be tough and capable of handling harsh conditions but sacrificing nothing in terms of comfort and quality. Sizes range from 5m to 10m, with a variety of propulsion systems ranging from outboard to twin diesel jet.
