Southern Spars specialise in the design and construction of carbon fibre spars, components, rigging, and rig servicing.

As the industry pioneer, Southern Spars built its first carbon spar in 1990. Since then, the company has pursued a passion for delivering world class cruising and racing spars, carbon rigging and service.

Its operation extends to four corners of the world, with centres in; USA, France, South Africa, and headquarters in Auckland New Zealand. It employs over 250 staff worldwide.

Composite Rigging

Southern Spars has a Composite Rigging division which manufactures custom lightweight, rigging products for all levels of yachting. The product range includes the innovative Element C6 carbon fibre cables, Element C6+ continuous carbon fibre rigging, Aramid Rigging kevlar cables and the Torque Transfer Luff Rope. Manufactured in-house and under strict quality control, products can be customised to suit any requirement.

Rig Pro

The rig servicing business division of Southern Spars, Rig Pro, specialises in the service, maintenance and repair of racing and cruising yachts whether they carry a Southern Spars rig or other brand. Rig Pro also offers a mast maintenance programme designed to monitor the servicing upkeep of a yacht's rig.

From the founding of Southern Spars to the present, major emphasis has always been placed on developing a powerful team of people not just skilled in their specialist fields, but also fired by a passion for yachting and providing excellence in customer service.
